We are busy getting prepared to host children from grades 1 through 6 at our Vacation Bible School on Friday August 8, Saturday August 9, and Sunday August 10. To register your children and for more details, visit this link.

This year, we are studying events in Bible History from Mount Sinai through to the fall of Jericho. Each day has two lessons, each with reinforcing activities, plus a time for snacks and plenty of games in between. Our last lesson on Sunday happens during the worship service with parents invited to watch and join; after the service, everyone is invited to a BBQ lunch and more games.

Update (after VBS)

We had 26 students attend up to 9 hours of VBS over 3 days! Wow! Most of the children do not attend Trinity.

It was exciting to see how the children were eager to learn from God's Word, engage in the reinforcing activities (crafts, singing, Jeopardy!), and play games to burn off energy with loads of fun.

The Sunday morning service of VBS is always an experience, too. All the children marched around the outside of our sanctuary (which simulated Israel marching around Jericho), blowing all manner of trumpets and noise makers, followed by a big shout - the cue for the audience (including their family members) to sit down, simulating the fall of the city walls.

Each student received their choice of a bible.

As volunteers, we were amazed at how the children remembered what they were taught. Each could recite the 10 commandments (using finger actions). Many could recall minute details that would have been ignored by most of us.

Many families stayed for the hotdog luncheon after the morning worship service on Sunday August 10, giving us further opportunities to connect with them over a meal.

We will keep these young ones in prayer, asking the Lord to grow the seeds planted in hearts and minds.
