We enter this new year with hope and great expectations! A vaccine is being rolled out to bring this Covid virus threat to an end. We hope to eventually be able to meet again as before, with warm handshakes and hugs! What a joy it will be to sing together and gather around the Lord’s Table in person. We enter this year in a period of transition, seeking God’s guidance to prepare our hearts and direct us to a new pastor. Our transition team is working hard to provide leadership in the process of evaluating our ministries, helping us to continue to move forward.
There is a risk of becoming impatient, wanting to return to “normal”, and wanting to see results in getting a pastor. Consider this quote from Elizabeth Elliot, “Restlessness and impatience change nothing except our peace and joy. Peace does not dwell in outward things, but in the heart prepared to wait trustfully and quietly on Him who has all things safely in His hands.”
Our church has adopted Ephesians 3:20-21 as our theme, where we claim faith in “one who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine!” We are in good hands, and our hopes for the future pale in comparison to God’s!
